Functional Medicine

Restore health by addressing the root causes of disease

A modern, holistic, data-driven approach to healthcare.

A Holistic Approach to Healthcare

The Functional Medicine approach to healthcare and disease prevention is a holistic, whole-person approach. It aims to identify and address the root causes of diseases rather than just the symptoms. By thorough consideration of nutrition, environmental and lifestyle influences, alongside the results of functional testing, the root cause of many chronic conditions can be identified and addressed.

A Functional Medicine Practitioner utilises a holistic approach to optimise health, more than just creating freedom from disease.

Integrating Best Practices

Recognizing that patients are unique, functional medicine aims to prevent and support health by focusing on the whole person rather than a specific diagnosis. Our programs are based on personalized nutrition, functional labs, health coaching, mindfulness techniques and prescribed combinations of supplements, botanicals, therapeutic diets, detoxification programs, exercise prescriptions and lifestyle strategies

Your Healing Journey

1. Fill out the Health Check Questionnaire

Before your first consultation, you will be sent a comprehensive questionnaire to complete. If you have any recent lab test results, it can be helpful to provide this information in the first session.

2. Initial Consultation

The first consultation is crucial to determining the best plan of action for you.
The first consultation can be done face-to-face or by phone / online consultation. Here we take a detailed health history and examination, including your family history, details of your supplements and medications, psychological & emotional pressures, exercise patterns, stress levels, and dietary habits and dig into your key health symptoms. This assessment helps to find out your biochemical imbalances and suggests appropriate functional testing to uncover the root cause of your disease

3. Functional Laboratory Test

We recommend appropriate lab testing to help identify the root cause of your condition so that we can provide you with a more personalized and successful functional protocol. Rather than a diagnosis of the disease, the goal is to use lab tests to find the underlying cause. This then provides areas of focus to help reverse symptoms you may be experiencing.

4. First Follow-Up: Foundational functional program

The first follow-up plans session is done within a week of the first consultation to start the foundational program. Recommendations for appropriate food plans and lifestyle strategies will be made along with the personalized supplement plan to heal your biochemical imbalances. Please note we cross-check all supplement suggestions against any medication that you might be on to ensure that there are no interactions or adverse effects.

5. Subsequent Follow-Up step-by-step: Personalizing as per each lab report

Development of a step-by-step BESPOKE, an actionable functional health program that is UNIQUE to your needs once a lab report comes out. We work on one report/ imbalance at a time as each imbalance needs its food plans, supplement plans etc for a month or more to heal that particular imbalance.

6. Follow Up to Monitor & Support

Most situations will benefit from 2-8 follow-up sessions, depending on how quickly your goals can be reached. For more complex health issues it may be necessary to work together for a longer period. The number of sessions needed is unique to you and the complexity of the situation.
